follow the traffic rules, you really won&#8217;t save much time by blowing through stop signs or speeding on our streets &#8211; the potential cost to you and to whom you may hit far outweigh those seconds.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>2.\u00a0 POOL INFORMATION.<\/strong>\u00a0 With the start of the FCPS and GMU school years and paucity of international lifeguards we enter into a critical timeframe.\u00a0 We are currently staffed to open at 11:00AM through the end of the season.\u00a0 Please keep in mind we may lose our guard capability.\u00a0 If that occurs we will have to open at 4:00PM on FCPS instruction days.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/drive.google.com\/file\/d\/1CWnKUVEKUOlAIWRas5QnaJvDWiwFKjf5\/view?usp=sharing\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">3. \u00a0TREE WORK; AUGUST 23 THROUGH 25, 2022.\u00a0\u00a0<\/a><\/strong>The tree removal impacting portions of Malone Court (MC) and Gainsborough Drive (GD) is planned to continue from Tuesday through Thursday of this week, weather and crew permitting.\u00a0 We also intend on grinding the stumps at Carriagepark Road (CPR) &#8211; near 10455 Carriagepark Court (CPC) &#8211; and behind 4848 Treasure Court (TC) during this window.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/drive.google.com\/file\/d\/1--XOE6znQXqhuxYiij52mQxh6tFb5tsQ\/view?usp=sharing\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">4.\u00a0 YARD WASTE COLLECTION CHANGE; WEDNESDAY, AUGUST 24, 2022 THROUGH DECEMBER 2022.\u00a0\u00a0<\/a><\/strong>We will resume our Yard Waste collection on Wednesdays starting this week.\u00a0\u00a0All yard waste requirements and constraints are in effect as normal. REMINDER \u2013 they WILL NOT pick up yard waste in plastic bags. Use paper bags or containers labeled \u2018YARD WASTE\u2019.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>5.\u00a0 EXTENDED POOL OPERATIONS; SEPTEMBER 10 and 11, 2022.\u00a0\u00a0<\/strong>We currently plan to operate our pool for the weekend after Labor Day.\u00a0 The hours will be:\u00a0\u00a0Saturday, September 10, 2022: \u00a011:00 AM to 7:00 PM and Sunday, September 11, 2022: \u00a011:00 AM to 6:00 PM. On September 11, 2022 from 6:00 PM to 7:00 PM will be the annual Puppy Plunge \u2013 no humans allowed in the pool during this last hour of the season.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>6.\u00a0 END OF SUMMER SOCIAL; SEPTEMBER 10, 2022, 5:00PM,POOL<\/strong>.\u00a0 We are combining the Chili Cook-off, Labor Day Potluck, Halloween Fest, and Annual Meeting support events into one final social for the season.\u00a0 As we have experienced with our previous catered events we will execute under the same catered-event principle at a smaller scale.\u00a0 Please consider coming to mark the end of a successful summer pool season!<strong>\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>7.&nbsp; POOL FURNITURE STORAGE; SEPTEMBER 11, 2022; 4:00PM; POOL DECK.&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/strong>We will store our furniture for the 2022-2023 off-season starting at this time.&nbsp; If you can please consider giving us a few hours of your time to get our pool ready for the off-season.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/drive.google.com\/file\/d\/1CaSzGM1kKzNIuBvEMUaZ0Y3uFE1Hovza\/view?usp=sharing\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">8.\u00a0 PUPPY PLUNGE; SEPTEMBER 11, 2022; 6:00PM; POOL.<\/a>\u00a0<\/strong><a href=\"https:\/\/drive.google.com\/file\/d\/1CaSzGM1kKzNIuBvEMUaZ0Y3uFE1Hovza\/view?usp=sharing\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><strong>\u00a0<\/strong><\/a><a href=\"https:\/\/drive.google.com\/file\/d\/1_2vYaxiQIRhkiaH8x8rgCEX7Hhg4W8SQ\/view?usp=sharing\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Please review the rules for this event\u00a0<\/a> Bring proof of your 2022 Fairfax County dog license with you. This can either be the current tag or the current receipt from the County. The tag or receipt will be returned to you after review. You will also need to sign the <a href=\"https:\/\/drive.google.com\/file\/d\/1POUkW6Ksf6wl1zpoFTdLJBmATJzL03vC\/view?usp=sharing\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Puppy Plunge Agreement <\/a>prior to entering the pool deck with your dog. We will have two dog egress locations (the permanent steps and a temporary dog ramp) in the main pool. The main pool and the wading pool will both be available for your dogs\u2019 enjoyment during the 6:00 PM-7:00 PM hour.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>9.&nbsp; FINANCE COMMITTEE MEETING; TUESDAY, SEPTEMBER 13, 2022; 7:00PM; VIRTUAL.&nbsp;<\/strong>&nbsp;The September 2022 Finance Committee Meeting will focus on a review of the 2023 PWCA Budget in preparation for the Board discussion on September 20, 2022.&nbsp; Please attend to discuss the future orientation of the Association in consonance with the Governing Documents as articulated through our Strategic Plan.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>1<\/strong><a href=\"https:\/\/drive.google.com\/drive\/folders\/1uoPxvf1w7LrTeT058tqqdln9rdXSufxP?usp=sharing\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><strong>0. \u00a0BOARD OF DIRECTORS MEETING; TUESDAY, SEPTEMBER 20, 2022; 7:00PM.<\/strong>\u00a0<\/a> The September board meeting will be conducted via the RingCentral virtual meeting framework. See the website under &#8216;Meetings&#8217;, select the year (2022), then the meeting (20220920). Document #01-1 contains the information to join the meeting.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>11.&nbsp; REQUEST FOR BL<\/strong><strong>OCK CAPTAIN.<\/strong>&nbsp; The lower CPR even addresses side&nbsp;is currently without a Block Captain.&nbsp; If you live in one of these residences (4800 CPR through 4870 CPR) please consider submitting your name forward to the Hospitality Committee at&nbsp;<a href=\"mailto:hospitality@parkwestcommunity.org\">hospitality@parkwestcommunity.org<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>12.&nbsp; STREET LIGHTS.<\/strong>&nbsp; Streetlights L13, L14, and L15 (near 4933 CPR, 4948 CPR, and 4910 CPR) should be operational at this moment.&nbsp; Streetlight status may also be found in the current board packet.&nbsp;&nbsp;We don&#8217;t always know when street lights malfunction so please let the Streets and Sidewalks Committee at<a href=\"mailto:streets@parkwestcommunity.org\">&nbsp;streets@parkwestcommunity.org<\/a>&nbsp;know if you notice a streetlight non-operational.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/drive.google.com\/file\/d\/1kfZd1C_z4WynSBKxvhjjDcU2wPVmIWLa\/view?usp=sharing\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><strong>13.\u00a0\u00a0ELECTRONIC CONSENT FORMS.<\/strong>\u00a0\u00a0<\/a>For Owners\/Members of the Association who may not know, electronic consent forms provide the Association the ability to send certain communications to you electronically only, thereby saving us the cost of printing and mailing those documents. \u00a0The form is available on our website within Policy Resolution 17-04 and in the August newsletter.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>14.\u00a0<\/strong>\u00a0<strong>ANNUAL MEETING \u2013 <a href=\"https:\/\/drive.google.com\/file\/d\/1cnn33EERkBdAG-qMTEiiV4PWyHv3BnxJ\/view?usp=sharing\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">CALL FOR NOMINATIONS<\/a>.<\/strong>\u00a0In preparation for our Annual Meeting in November we attached a nomination form in the August newsletter.\u00a0 At each Annual Meeting there are three of our nine-member Board of Directors are up for election. \u00a0Please consider submitting your name for consideration by the membership. \u00a0If that seems to large a step, consider volunteering for any one of our committees. \u00a0I KNOW they\u2019d be happy for any assistance you could provide.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>1<\/strong><a href=\"https:\/\/drive.google.com\/file\/d\/1HJbqr33g890aH-hjGPiOyZrtPh-eeS37\/view?usp=sharing\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><strong>5. \u00a0TRASH AND RECYCLING.\u00a0<\/strong>\u00a0<\/a>We included the current synopsized trash and recycling rules in the August newsletter. \u00a0With the turnover to new tenants and owners, if everyone could review the rules we would greatly appreciate it. \u00a0We are starting to have items placed out that require advance notice to Patriot. \u00a0Some of these items carry a charge for disposal. \u00a0If you have items to dispose of please be considerate to your neighbors and to the community and take the responsibility to get rid of such items correctly.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>16. &nbsp;PARKING.<\/strong>&nbsp;&nbsp;With the addition of new residents to our community I thought I\u2019d just give you a couple of thoughts based on some recent events.&nbsp; #1 \u2013 When parking in any curb-side parking ensure both your front and rear wheels are on the concrete gutter. &nbsp;#2 \u2013 Do not park in any yellow painted curbs, nor any white painted curbs during any snow-emergency designated times by the Association. &nbsp;#3 \u2013 The entire community (assigned and unassigned spaces) is permit parking only \u2013 have a permit in your vehicle or risk the vehicle being towed. &nbsp;#4 \u2013 If you are parked in any visitor space or at any curb-side parking, remember to move your vehicle every week, after ten days your vehicle is subject to towing. &nbsp;#5 \u2013 No parking or storage of any vehicles (e.g. trailers, motorcycles) on common areas. &nbsp;#6 \u2013 no parking at the pool parking lot unless actively using the pool or upon approval from the Association. &nbsp;If you have questions or need more information, please review the Community Rules on our website.<br><br>Enjoy the upcoming week!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><br>Regards,<br><br>Mark<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Good afternoon.&nbsp; Been a while since my last message so several updates and new items for you today.
