PWCA Information for Members and Residents (March 2019, Message #2)

Good morning. Too many things on my plate so I missed two other items in yesterday’s email.

1. YARD WASTE COLLECTION: will start next week. For those new to our community, during the season between March/April and December Fairfax County also mandates a yard waste collection service. This occurs on Wednesday (first pickup April 3rd) and usually runs through December with the following two Wednesdays in January for Christmas tree pickup. Fairfax County mandates yard waste be placed out in paper bags or in containers marked ‘YARD WASTE’. For brush or limbs; the bundles should be no longer than 4 feet in length, the overall bundle must be less than 2 feet in diameter, and no single limb or piece of brush in the bundle shall be larger than 4 inches in diameter. See our website or http://www.patriotdisposalservices.com for further information.

2. VOLUNTEER LANDSCAPING PROJECT: SATURDAY, MARCH 30th, 8AM, Braddock Road entrance. Keeping our community well kept takes work. We use volunteer projects to augment our paid support contracts, thereby allowing us to make the best use of our funds. On Saturday morning we plan to sod an area at the Carriagepark Road bus stop and split some of our large grasses and replant them in other areas of our community. The work should take no longer than two hours – amount of work accomplished is dependent on how many volunteers we get out. Shovels, gloves, and another wheelbarrow would be appreciated…

Thanks for bearing with me two days in a row to read this message…

Regards,

Mark
